Apply: Agencies can request grants
The Zonta Club of Everett is accepting applications from agencies for funding.
Nonprofit organizations whose programs meet the objectives of Zonta could be selected to receive funding and/or obtain assistance in the form of direct support for a program, participate in Fund an Item at the annual Zonta Auction, or request assistance through the Hands-On program where volunteers work on projects.
Zonta International is a worldwide organization whose main goal is to improve the lives of women worldwide through education and health. Toward that goal, each year the Zonta Club of Everett gives money to non-profit organizations whose programs mirror Zonta’s mission.

Raffle: Benefit aids fire department
The Edmonds Fire Safety Foundation, which supports the Edmonds Fire Department, is selling raffle tickets for a fire engine pedal car, a popular raffle item for the last several years at both the Edmonds Garden Museum Market and the Summer Market.
Tickets are $1 each and will be available for sale at the markets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Sept. 26 at the foundation’s booth in the Public Safety parking lot, Fifth Avenue, Edmonds. In addition to the pedal car, a number of other prizes will be raffled including gift certificates and dinners for two. The drawing will be Sept. 26. Proceeds from the raffle will go to the Edmonds Fire Department to purchase fire and life safety equipment not covered by the budget. Call 425-772-8115 or go to www.edmondsfiresafety foundation.org.
Volunteer: Leader needed for tax help
AARP tax aide is in search of a leader to coordinate the activities of more than 100 dedicated, active volunteers in Snohomish and Island counties.
During the recent tax season, the volunteers gave freely of their time to assist more than 4,000 low and moderate income tax payers of all ages prepare and file federal tax returns.
