EVERETT — People in the Silver Firs neighborhood south of Everett awoke today to find racial slurs spray painted on several vehicles.
The damage was reported about 5:30 a.m. in the 5600 and 5700 blocks of 136th St. SE, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At least five vehicles had racial slurs painted on the windows; at least two are owned by minorities. The case is being investigated as a potential hate crime, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
There are no suspects. Deputies are investigating the possibility that the damage is the work of juveniles who are familiar with the neighborhood, Hover said.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845.
