Everett resident earns degree
Chad Schroeder, a resident of Everett, received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago during May commencement.
EHS grad wins scholarship
Georgina Nkrumah of Everett is one of 30 high school seniors from across the country to receive a $1,000 U.S. Bank 2008-09 Internet scholarship.
Nkrumah is a graduate of Everett High School.
Edmonds resident makes dean’s list
Edmonds resident Madison Jane Wrest was named to the spring 2009 Dean’s List for the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University.
Everett foundation awards scholarships
The Everett Public Schools Foundation recently announced scholarship recipients for the graduating class of 2009 from Everett, Cascade, Henry M. Jackson and Sequoia high schools.
Scholarships come from endowment funds set up in memory or to honor individuals by their families and friends.
Here’s a listing of the scholarship winners:
Alice Mellema Scholarship Endowment: $500 scholarships went to Everett High School students Chelsea Sontra, Shelby Denckla, Kayla Anderson, Ayana Uriu and Nicolette Lauritzon.
Bill Shershon Memorial Scholarship: Christina Lee, Henry M. Jackson High School, $750.
Bob Whitehead Memorial Scholarship: $500 scholarships went to Elizabeth Reed, Everett High School; Krista LaComb, Cascade High School; Candace Feingold, Henry M. Jackson High School; and Stephanie Tucker, Sequoia High School.
CASE (Class of 1955 Everett High School) Scholarship: Daniel Rodrigues, Everett High School, $2,000.
Everett High School Class of 1947: Kenneth Cruz, Everett High School, $750.
Daniel Stein Science and Technology Scholarship Endowment: Carolyn Gunthardt and Michael Tomber, both of Henry M Jackson High School, $1,000.
David Taylor-Hawthorne Alumni Community Service Award: Jessica VanSpeybrock, Everett High School, $500.
Everett Public Schools Foundation Aspiring Teacher Scholarship: Ally Lund and Suzy Olsen, Everett High School, $750.00.
Everett Public Schools Foundation Visual Arts Scholarship (sponsored by the Howarth Fund): $500 scholarships went to Alex Manea and Alexa Taylor, Henry M. Jackson High School, and Svetlana Prikhodko, Cascade High School.
Frances LaGrave Scholarship Endowment: John Caindoy, Everett High School, $1,000; Andrew Pritzkau, Cascade High School, $500; Bradley Le, Cascade High School, $500; Salma Villalobos, Henry M. Jackson High School, $1,000; and Taylor Hutches, Sequoia High School, $1,000.
The Howarth Scholarship Endowment: Julia Peel, Everett High School, $1,000.
Mark Reiman Scholarship: Brianne Loomis, Cascade High School, $1,000; and Jeffery Singer, Cascade High School, $1,000.
Marsha Cogdill Scholarship Endowment: John Caindoy, Everett High School, $1,000.
Michael Gilchrest Memorial Scholarship: Whitney Taylor, Cascade High School, $750.
Michael Schuerhoff Memorial Scholarship: Reid Jones, Cascade High School, $200.
Oftsie Scholarship: $1,000 scholarships went to Melissa Lawson, Cascade High School; John Huynh, Everett High School; Macy Medema, Henry M. Jackson High School; and Emily Clark, Sequoia High School.
Roy Baxter Memorial Scholarship: $2,500 scholarships went to Cascade High School students Jessica Leighton and Ngoc Doan.
Sequoia Award: Vivian Nguyen, Sequoia High School, $1,000.
Stanley S. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship: Kayla Anderson, Everett High School, $750.
William Morgan Everett High School Physics Scholarship: $3,500 scholarships went to Michael Iringan and Laura Veith.
Willinor Scholarship Fund: $500 scholarships went to Casie Francke, Cascade High School; Casey Church, Everett High School; David Sullivan, Henry M. Jackson High School; and Axle Pledger, Sequoia High School.
