Air Force Airman Chris P. Burke graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Mathew Burke of Lynnwood, and a 2003 graduate of Lynnwood High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. Jennifer D. Taulbee has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of Shaun and Julia Taulbee of Lynnwood, and is a 2008 graduate of Lynnwood High School.

Air Force Airman Daryl K. Valdez graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Mark Valdez of Oak Harbor and is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Navy Seaman Johnathan A. Kuehn, son of James A. Kuehn of Everett, is one of more than 7,500 sailors of the USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group serving in Afghanistan. Kuehn is a 2007 graduate of Everett High School. He joined the Navy in May 2008.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael C. Foster, son of Konda Kearton of Langley, is one of more than 7,500 sailors of the USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group serving in Afghanistan. Foster is a 1997 graduate of South Whidbey High School. He joined the Navy in September 1997.

Navy Seaman Norrick T. Burton, son of Tonjia Dennis of Memphis, Tenn., and Norrick T. Burton of Marysville, is one of more than 7,500 sailors of the USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group serving in Afghanistan. Burton joined the Navy in October 2008.
