Dale Henley, president and CEO of Haggen Inc. since 1996, announced his retirement from the grocer Thursday. He will remain at the helm until a replacement is selected. Bellingham-based Haggen operates 33 supermarkets in Washington and Oregon and employs about 3,800 people.
Little Red School House, which provides services for Snohomish County families with children ages birth to three who have developmental disabilities, has named Deb Anderson as development director, donor relations, to spearhead Little Red’s newly formed development department. Anderson came from the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, where she was vice president of sales and marketing.
Douglas Hutter of Arlington has joined the staff of Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He was raised in Everett, graduating from Everett High School, Everett Community College and Washington State University. He pursued a career in the restaurant industry until changing careers to funeral service, receiving his Washington State funeral director’s license in 1996.

People who need to re-enter the work force because of divorce, separation, death or disability of a spouse, or loss of welfare can find free tools and support at workshops presented by “Pathways to Work” through the YWCA. The Pacific Rim Ballroom &Supper Club, a new restaurant in Marysville, plans a grand opening event at 6 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant, 3228 Marine Drive. Marysville Mayor Dennis Kendall will cut a ceremonial ribbon Refreshments, appetizers and dessert will be served.
The WorkSource Aerospace Center at Edmonds Community College is running free job search workshops this month. The workshops will focus on how to set goals for a job search, find job opportunities and prepare a targeted resume and cover letter that will improve the odds of landing a specific position. There will also be workshops about how to get funds for job training to improve employment prospects. Upcoming job search workshops at the WorkSource Aerospace Center, Edmonds Community College, Maltby Hall, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood, will be held Monday, Tuesday, July 27 and July 30.
