Rescue crews bring injured hiker to safety in Lake Serene area

INDEX – A rescue was under way this afternoon to help an injured hiker.

Rescue crews hiked up to the Lake Serene area off U.S. 2 to bring an injured hiker to safety, Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said. The woman hurt her ankle and possibly had a broken elbow.

Crews were using a sheriff’s helicopter to get the hiker down.
