EVERETT — People this afternoon can get the first glimpse of the cats rescued last week from a Lynnwood home.

The Everett Animal Shelter invited The Herald to take photos of some of the cats and we’ll post those on Heraldnet.com later today.

About 11 of the 40 rescued cats will be put up for adoption from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Everett city spokeswoman Kate Reardon said.

The adoption fees are $75 for one cat or two for $120.

Some of the rescued cats will be placed with foster families and others will go to rescue organizations due to their need for treatment of medical problems, shy behavior or socialization needs, Reardon said.

The woman who owned the cats was believed to have suffered from a medical condition. Medics found the animals after they were summoned to the woman’s home Friday evening. The woman died Saturday of natural causes. A relative released the animals to county officials.
