EDMONDS — A 21-year-old Everett man was jailed early Friday after he allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend outside a Top Foods in Edmonds.
The woman, 19, and her sister were going into the grocery store just after midnight when three people charged them and forced them into a car, according to a police affidavit filed Monday in Everett District Court. Police were called.
The woman’s current boyfriend told police that he and the woman were staying at a nearby motel. Officers investigated and found the woman’s sister walking toward one of the rooms, the court document said.
Police quickly found the suspect and the other woman in a car near the motel. She told officers her ex-boyfriend tried to strangle her in the car, the document said.
The Everett man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. Police asked for a high bail due to the man’s lengthy criminal history.
A judge pro tem Monday maintained bail at $150,000.
