BOTHELL — A police SWAT team was called late Sunday after a man allegedly threatened his estranged wife with a loaded shotgun and refused to surrender.

The man, 36, showed up at the woman’s home Sunday night and allegedly pointed a shotgun at her and said, “This shouldn’t take long,” according to a police affidavit filed Tuesday in Everett District Court.

The woman escaped, called 911 and ran to a neighbor’s house, the court document said.

After nearly six hours, the man gave himself up to police. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault.

A judge Tuesday ordered him to give up his passport and ordered him held on $1 million bail.
