MARYSVILLE — A family with a toddler was left homeless after a fire destroyed their house on Tuesday morning.
Fire crews rushed to a single-story home in the 13300 block of 58th Drive NE just before noon, Marysville Fire District spokeswoman Kristen Thorstenson said. Firefighters found smoke pouring out of the home’s door and windows. Neighbors were using a garden hose to spray water on the fire.
A smoke alarm alerted the family, including a 3-year-old boy, that the home was on fire, Thorstenson said. The three and their dog got out safely. The family’s cat didn’t survive the blaze.
The family didn’t have renters’ insurance, she said. Damage was estimated at about $140,000. Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s officials investigated the fire.
