Western Union and Money Tree helped Habitat for Humanity in building two homes at 6624 Broadway, Everett. The companies brought an 18-member team to hang siding and also made a $10,000 donation at the four-home development.

Pathways to Work, a YWCA-sponsored program that helps people returning to the work force because of divorce, separation, death or disability of a spouse or loss of welfare is set for 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 6 through 19 in Everett. The Snohomish County Public Utility District Web site, www.snopud.com, has been redesigned to make navigation easier, offer expanded categories, improve search capabilities, increase security and provide quick links to popular pages. Other features include an online bill payment program, EnergyAdvisor calculators and videos on conservation, customer safety and green energy.
Everett South Goodwill’s Job Training and Education Center, 228 SW Everett Mall Way, is registering people for free classes in the next eight-week session, which runs from Jan. 4 through Feb. 25. The courses teach people with significant barriers to employment valuable skills to find and keep jobs. Instruction in English as a second language and computer basics will be offered.
