EVERETT — A new executive is joining The Herald to help it sharpen its focus on financial results.
Starting in January, David Dadisman will become The Herald’s general manager, a new position that will be part of the company’s senior leadership team.
In announcing the change, Herald publisher Allen Funk said Dadisman will help the company keep focused on business opportunities in a soft economy.
Dadisman is vice president of circulation for The Washington Post Co., which owns The Herald. In his new position, he will report to Funk and will supervise the paper’s business functions. The news and editorial departments will continue to report directly to Funk.
Dadisman, 51, noted that his newspaper career has mostly focused on circulation. In addition to working at the Post, he was circulation director at the Houston Chronicle.
He said he’s excited about his new position and the opportunity to broaden his career.
“I truly am looking forward to it,” he said.
He said he didn’t have any immediate changes to announce, noting some of the things he’s done in other areas may not work in Washington state.
“Newspapers across the country are seeing more challenges than they ever have before,” he said.
