No joy for Rasmus Rissanen

Hope everyone had a merry Christmas!

Unfortunately, one person who may not have had the best Christmas is Everett defenseman Rasmus Rissanen. The rosters have now been updated on the IIHF website for the World Junior Hockey Championships, and it appears Rissanen did not make the final cut for Finland. It’s unfortunate that Rissanen won’t have the opportunity on that stage. The good news for him is that as an 18-year-old he has one more opportunity to make the team next year.

I don’t know what Rissanen’s schedule from here will be like, whether he’ll be coming straight back to Everett or whether he’ll get the chance to go home for a bit. I’ll post more when I find out.
