Everett shooting not random, police say

Detectives are still investigating two separate shootings that happened Sunday morning, one in Everett and the other near Lynnwood.

On Monday, Everett detectives continued to interview witnesses, hoping to shed light on the shooting death of a man whose body was found in the parking garage shared by the Broadway Plaza apartments and the Everett Senior Center, Sgt. Robert Goetz said.

The man, who was in his 70s, was shot multiple times. His identity wasn’t released on Monday.

Detectives were talking to a man in connection with the case, but that man is not a suspect, Goetz said. The shooting apparently wasn’t random and the community is not in danger.

The shooting didn’t appear to be related to drugs or a robbery.

Goetz said the man didn’t live at the Broadway Plaza. It’s unknown why he was in the garage at the time of the shooting.

Also on Monday, Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives still had no suspects in the shooting death of Armond Davidson outside an apartment complex in unincorporated Lynnwood.

Davidson, 22, of Seattle, was found dead early on Sunday in the parking lot in front of an apartment building in the 15900 block of 44th Avenue W.

He had been shot in the head, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Davidson was shot at the scene. He apparently knew someone who lived at the complex, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

“There is no indication the homicide is drug- or gang-related,” Hover said.
