Wreck on U.S. 2 causes backups for miles

EVERETT — Eastbound traffic of the U.S. 2 trestle backed up for miles Tuesday evening after a car wreck blocked the road. A multiple-vehicle collision blocked two left lanes near Homeacres Road about 5:45 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.
Medics drove two people to the hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic was detoured to Homeacres Road as emergency crews and state troopers investigated. All lanes reopened about 7:30 p.m.
