Monroe: New interim administrator for city
Gene Brazel was confirmed as the interim city administrator on Tuesday night by an unanimous vote of the City Council.
Beginning March 1, Brazel will split his time between the new position and his role as public works director. The dual role is similar to that of Tim Quenzer, who now acts as interim city administrator and police chief.
Brazel, 40, will get a salary increase in the new position, going from $9,038 per month to $9,975 per month.
Quenzer, who entered into the city administrator role at a higher pay grade than Brazel, makes $12,974 per month in his dual role. His salary will drop by $2,500 per month when he returns to working solely as police chief in March.
