EVERETT — The trial for an Everett bikini barista charged with prostitution was rescheduled Monday.
The trial, which was to start this week, has been postponed to April 5. The woman made a brief appearance in Everett Municipal Court.
She was among five baristas at the Grab-n-Go espresso stand on Broadway charged with prostitution and violating the city’s adult entertainment ordinance.
Investigators launched an investigation after city officials received more than 40 complaints about bikini coffee stands around Everett.
The Grab-n-Go stand received the most complaints. Officers posed as customers and alleged that the baristas were exposing themselves and allowing customers to touch them for money.
Earlier this month three of the baristas postponed their trial dates to consider an offer city prosecutors are making that would mean the women could avoid jail time.
