Buy a bun, save a bus

A bake sale to raise awareness about proposed cuts in Community Transit bus service is planned for Monday.

The event is scheduled for 7 to 9 a.m. at the Aurora Village bus center at N. 200th Street and Ashworth Avenue N. in Shoreline.

The event is being coordinated by the Transportation Choices Coalition and Futurewise, a growth management advocacy group.

Money raised at the bake sale will be donated directly to Community Transit to help offset any service cuts, said Kristin Kelly, Snohomish County program director for Futurewise.
