Everett: Nominate an awesome student’s achievements

City officials are now accepting nominations for the annual Mayor’s Youth Achievement Award, which recognizes the accomplishments of kids ages 8 to 20 who attend school in the Everett area.

The goal of the awards is to celebrate the positive achievements of the city’s youth in areas such as community service, politics, arts and entertainments, academics, athletics, citizenship and overcoming obstacles. Students with an Everett address or who attend an Everett school are eligible.

Nomination forms are available at Everett public libraries, public school offices, City Hall and online at www.ci.everett.wa.us/default.aspx?ID=1130. Sultan: Free business workshop is offered March 19

Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick and Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Cofer will host another free business workshop on March 19.

The latest installment will focus on finance, aiming to educate business owners on bookkeeping and taxes. Guest speakers will include representatives from H&R Block and Coastal Community Bank.

The workshop will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. March 19 at the Sultan Visitor Information Center, 320 Main St.
