Texas influences nation’s textbooks

Regarding the Tuesday letter, “Texas ed board hurts education”: A sad aspect of the distortions of history in the textbooks approved by the Texas Board of Education is that the distortions will affect textbooks nationwide.

Texas is the largest single purchaser of textbooks in the nation and therefore what Texas wants (requires?) in its textbooks strongly influences what publishers make available. Is the Texas brand of history and science coming to a school near you?
