GRANITE FALLS — A woman and her two daughters were hurt in a traffic accident outside of Granite Falls on Thursday.
The family was in a small car waiting to make a turn when they were hit by a pickup driven by a 18-year-old man, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The pickup driver reportedly was trying to pass a dump truck when it crashed into the car, Hover said. The accident happened about 12:45 p.m. on the Mountain Loop Highway near Canyon Drive.
The woman and her two children were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Collision detectives believe speed and improper passing likely caused the crash, Hover said.
