A Stanwood-Camano Amateur Radio Hamfest is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Stanwood.
Find electronics, information about ham radios and drawings for prizes.
Learn how to talk to the world — for fun, or to help out during emergencies.
The event is at StanwoodMiddle School, 9405 271st St. NW in Stanwood.
Rummage sale in Monroe: A Mother’s Day rummage and bake sale is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at East county Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway in Monroe.
Adopt a pet in Everett: A Wild West Pet Fest and Adoption Fair is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road in Everett.
Sno-DOG, a group supporting off-leash dog parks, will participate in the event. For more information, e-mail volunteers@sno-dog.org.
Learn disaster preparedness: Snohomish County Fire District 7 offers Community Emergency Response Team training.
Participants will learn how to help in their own neighborhood when disaster strikes. Anyone capable of helping another person in an emergency can attend.
Classes begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with most sessions held Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $30.
Classes will be held at Station 71, 8010 180th St. SE in Snohomish.
