EVERETT – The person found dead in a sleeping bag Sunday morning was a Seattle woman in her 30s, police said.

The woman, who was white, was a victim of homicide, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said this afternoon. Her identity hasn’t been released.

“There are obvious signs of trauma on the body,” he said.

The woman’s body was found on the side of a road in the 2000 block of 100 Street SW., not far from Paine Field. Detectives today were still working with the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine what happened to her. The woman had no local criminal history, Goetz said.

Police have no suspects in the case as of this afternoon. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Everett police tip line at 425-257-8450.
