Benzel takes second at Washington Open

BELLEVUE — Bothell’s Ryan Benzel, a teaching pro at Marysville’s Battle Creek Golf Course, shot a 2-under par 70 to finish two strokes behind Jeff Coston in the final round of the Washington Open at Glendale Country Club.
Benzel, who shot a three-day total of 205, won $10,000 and Coston, a teaching pro at Semiahmoo Country Club, won $15,000. Coston shot a 2-under 69 to finish with a 203.
