Everett man convicted in Lake Stevens grocery store burglary

EVERETT — A jury on Wednesday convicted an Everett man of burglary and theft for his part in a heist at a Lake Stevens grocery store.

James Densmore, 50, faces five years in prison for a break-in at Jay’s Market last year. More than $4,000 was taken after a safe was cut open. Prosecutors alleged that Densmore was part of a trio of career burglars who struck dozens of businesses around the Puget Sound. The men often busted through drywall at businesses and restaurants and make a beeline for safes.

Densmore is facing additional charges in King County and possibly more here, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Mara Rozzano said.

His associate Byron “Bam” Bowman was sentenced to a decade behind bars after confessing to nearly 50 break-ins at businesses in Snohomish County and beyond.

His son Tyler “Bam Bam” Bowman remains charged with burglary and theft in connection with the Lake Stevens break-in.

Densmore had 15 prior felony convictions, primarily burglary related. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 30.
