Food Lust is coming to Snohomish County for the first time.
The fifth-annual feast, gala and fundraiser for the Seattle-based Cascade Harvest Coalition will be 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at The Fields at Willie Green’s Organic Farm in Monroe, a new outdoor venue for special events.
Washington wines, cider and beer will be served with appetizers during a silent auction starting at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. in an elaborate tent.
There will be a wine-bidding fundraiser known as the Bottle Brawl at 7:15 p.m., followed by a live auction and Dessert Dash (involving more bidding and a bit of hurrying) at 7:30 p.m.
Guests are welcome to stroll the 50-acre working farm at 19501 Tualco Road, Monroe, where the landscaped grounds feature ornamental ponds, bamboo groves, streams and sequoia trees. Traditional Cuban music will be provided by the SuperSones.
Participating restaurants, all based in King County, include the Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge, Elliott Bay Cafe, Fresh Bistro, Herban Feast, Portage Bay Cafe, Sip wine bar and restaurant, Taste at Seattle Art Museum, Tilikum Place Cafe, Emmer &Rye, Hot Cakes, Savour and Boat Street Cafe.
Tickets are $85 at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/107092. Dress is down-on-the-farm formal.
Proceeds will benefit the coalition’s mission of helping farmers and sustaining local food systems for a healthy environment and community.
