Russian Technologies announced today that it has selected the Boeing Co. over Airbus and a Russian competitor for an aircraft contract.
The state-run holding company had announced last August that it was looking to buy 50 airplanes with an option for an additional 15, according to numerous reports. Today, the company said in statement that Boeing will provide those aircraft. Working with Russia’s Aeroflot airlines, the two will submit a firm order with Boeing shortly and announce then which models it intends to order.
Airbus and Russia’s United Aircraft Technologies also competed for the order. Russian Technologies also said it will order some planes from United Aircraft.
