Arlington: Friendship Walk set for Saturday
The Village Community Services 2010 Friendship Walk is set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday starting from the Legion Park gazebo, 114 N. Olympic Ave.
Registration opens at noon.
The 1-mile walk is designed to raise awareness of the talents of disabled adults in the community.
Snacks, water and prizes are offered. Raise or donate $25 or more and get a Friendship Walk T-shirt. Donations benefit the Voices of the Village band.
Granite Falls: Mountain Loop Experience II
The second annual Mountain Loop Highway celebration in Granite Falls is set for 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday around town.
Events include a 5K run, a swap meet and craft fair, and a free movie at dusk at the Perrigoue Park Ball Field.

Marysville: Church youth group plans sale
The Senior High Youth group of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Marysville is planning its annual sale for Friday and Saturday.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days in the church gym, 7215 51st Ave. NE. A car wash is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a “Buck-A-Bag Sale” for 3 to 4 p.m., both on Saturday. Proceeds from the event will help fund the summer youth mission trip to Shoshone, Idaho.
Donations of gently used clothing and household items are welcome and may be dropped off in the gym.

Stanwood: Deadline looms for grant-seekers
The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation awards community grants to nonprofit organizations that benefit the people of Stanwood and Camano Island.
Grant applications and guidelines can be found at www.s-caf.org. Applications are due to the foundation on or before July 15.
Previous recipients include the Camano Animal Shelter, Josephine Sunset Home and the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Baroque music to be played Friday
The Cohan-Shangrow Duo is scheduled to perform works by Handel, Vivaldi and Bach at 7 p.m. Friday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW in Stanwood.
Jeffrey Cohan, flute, and George Shangrow, harpsichord, perform throughout the region.
Admission is $15. Youth 18 and younger are free.
Tickets are to be available at the door.

Mill Creek: Third meeting about trail
The last of three meetings to discuss the future North Creek bike and pedestrian trail is scheduled tonight from 6 to 8 at Mill Creek City Hall Council Chambers, 15728 Main St.
North Creek Trail is being planned as a regional multi-purpose, shared-use path connecting the regional Sammamish River Trail/Burke– Gilman Trail in King County with Snohomish County’s Regional Interurban Trail at McCollum Park in Everett.
Design of the Snohomish County portion of the trail, which includes route selection and purchase of right-of-way, is expected to be completed in 2013.
