Ways to help: An information session on volunteering at Providence Hospice and Home Care is from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday in downtown Everett.

Golf in Arlington: Arlington’s community development director David Kuhl and city employees are planning a golf tournament to raise funds for a new gateway sign for Arlington.
The tournament is set for Aug. 7 at Gleneagle Golf Course. Cost is $65 for golf, lunch and use of a cart.
The city employees are recruiting hole sponsors, prize sponsors and players. For more information, call 360-403-3551.
Aquafest parade for kids: Children of all ages can decorate their bikes, wagons and scooters and participate in the 50th anniversary of Aquafest on Friday.
The parade will begin on Hartford Drive, near Lake Stevens’ Fire Station 81. Check-in starts at 5 p.m. and the parade starts at 6 p.m.
Registration before the parade is requested.
All children who are registered will receive a sun visor.

Trivia on survival at the library: An event titled “Stranded at Sea” is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Granite Falls Library, 815 E. Galena St.
Participants in the free event will hear extreme tales of survival, then enter a trivia contest.
