Wakeboarders and wakeboarding watchers can head to Monroe’s Lake Tye on Friday through Aug. 15 for the first-ever Northwest Riders Wake Series.
All skill levels are invited to show what they can do, and there will be a “Double-Up Competition” featuring four pairs of professional riders competing head-to-head.
Saturday’s and Sunday’s all-ages, all-skill level events include a daylong wakeboarding competition and a day of wakeboarding clinics. Participants for either day can meet at Lake Tye Park, 14964 Fryelands Blvd. Spectators can go to viewing areas at Sockeye’s Restaurant, 14090 Fryelands Blvd., and the grassy area surrounding it.
Friday’s competition runs from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday’s is approximately 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with registration from 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.; and Sunday’s clinics run two hours each, all day long, but exact start times have yet to be determined.
Skill levels are novice, intermediate, women’s, advanced and open brackets, for as young as age 4 up to senior citizens.
The clinics cost $100 per person. To sign up for the competition or clinics, or for more information, call 425-220-0675.
