Arlington: Computer surplus to be auctioned
In the market for a computer but don’t have a lot to spend?
The city of Arlington is holding a sealed bid auction for surplus computer equipment through 5 p.m. Aug. 31. The equipment includes desktops and laptops.

Art being sought for show, fundraiser
The Arlington Arts Council plans to present Art in the Park Sept. 11 and 12 in Legion Park, downtown Arlington.
Artists who would like to rent a space to show their work are asked to call Roberta Baker, 360-474-8576.

The arts council is also planning its eighth annual Fall into Art on Oct. 16 at the Medallion Hotel in Arlington. This is a fundraiser to support public art in Arlington.

Granite Falls: Come see free outdoor movie
A free showing of “E.T.” is planned at Perrigoue Memorial Park baseball fields Aug. 21.
The show is scheduled to start at dusk, about 8:30 p.m.
The event is presented by the city of Granite Falls and the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by IGA Market.

Lake Stevens: Watch out for IronMen
Triathletes will be in the city Sunday for the IronMan 70.3 event.
The half IronMan race starts at 6:30 a.m. at the North Cove boat launch. The race consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56-mile bike and a 13.1 mile run.
Main Street will be closed from 16th Street NE to 18th Street on Sunday from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A lane of North Lakeshore Drive from the roundabout to Main Street will also be closed.

City Council cancels Monday workshop
The City Council will not hold a workshop meeting Monday.
The council’s next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Lake Stevens School District administration building, 12309 22nd St. NE.

Marysville: Concert is last of summer series
The band Becca Atterberry and Soul Intention is scheduled to perform at 7 tonight at Jennings Memorial Park.
The free concert is the last in this year’s Sounds of Summer Concert Series. The park is at 6915 Armar Road.
