Boeing wins FedEx order for two 777s, loses order for 737s

The Boeing Co. received an order from FedEx for two of its Everett-built 777s this week but lost an order for three 737s.

Boeing revealed the changes in a weekly update on its orders Website. The company also picked up an order for one 737 from an undisclosed customer. Boeing did not disclose the source of the 737 cancellations.

Through Sept. 28, Boeing has 288 net orders. The company has received 361 gross orders but has taken cancellations for 73 aircraft this year.

Today, Boeing announced a delay in the first delivery of its 747-8 cargo jet. Boeing had planned to deliver that aircraft before the end of the year but has pushed back delivery until mid-2011.
