Arlington man dies in fall off Deception Pass Bridge

DECEPTION PASS — A 47-year-old Arlington man died Tuesday after falling off the Deception Pass Bridge.

Investigators believe the fall was accidental, said Will Reichardt, spokesman for the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses reported the fall about 1:30 p.m. They told investigators the man appeared to be taking a picture or doing something similar.

The man fell about 150 feet to the rocks below.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Reichardt said Thursday.
