The Boeing Co. reported Friday that it’s turned on the power for important systems of its new 747-8 Intercontinental.
The move is an important milestone that enables the company to begin functional tests on the electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on the passenger model of the new 747.
“This is a critical step in the assembly process for the new 747-8 Intercontinental,” said Elizabeth Lund, 747 deputy program manager. “The airplane’s systems are now live. This milestone is a reflection of the focus and hard work of our engineers, mechanics and suppliers.”
