Boeing leads Airbus in orders, trails in deliveries

The Boeing Co. leads rival Airbus in new jet orders this year by a margin of 111 net requests.

But with its 787 and 747-8 programs behind schedule, Boeing trails Airbus in aircraft deliveries this year with 386 deliveries compared to Airbus’ 417. Boeing delivered 40 airplanes in October, including 35 737s, four 777s and one 767. October was a slower month for Airbus in terms of deliveries, handing over 37 jets including just 28 A320s.

Airbus said it won orders for 42 jets in October, bringing its year-to-date total to 369 net orders through Oct. 31. Boeing has listed 480 net orders through Nov. 2 on its orders and deliveries website.
