Everett coin show
There is a new location this year for the Everett Coin Club’s 48th annual Coin and Stamp Show.
It’s planned for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church Hall, 12810 35th Ave. SE in Everett.
It’s free. Saturday there will raffles, food to buy and a Boy Scout clinic so they can earn merit badges.
Potluck on Camano: “Reaching for Resiliency” Camano Action for a Rural Environment’s monthly meeting is planned for 6 tonight at the Camano Community Center, 141 E. Camano Drive on Camano Island.
The meeting will begin with a Slow Food Potluck, followeed by the program at 7 tonight.
Learn about positive responses to climate changes, and planning beyond reliance on petroleum, as speakers describe the “Transition Town” and “Slow Food” Movements.
Take a locally grown and harvested potluck dish to share for four to six people.
To make this a zero waste event, take a plate, bowl, cup and utensils too.
Quarry Road opening: A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to mark the opening of Quarry Road on Friday. The new 1.9-mile road connects to Highway 92.
The $28.8 million road was designed to divert truck traffic from downtown Granite Falls.
The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the intersection of Jordan and Engebretsen roads.
