A French newspaper is reporting that the Boeing Co. will delay deliveries of its new 787 until July.
Boeing halted flight tests of its 787 after a Nov. 9 electrical fire onboard a test plane. Although the company says it has determined the cause of that fire, Boeing has not announced a revised delivery schedule for the Dreamliner, which already is nearly three years behind schedule.
Boeing could begin deliveries next summer, Les Echos reported, based on talks between Boeing and Air France.
Boeing has been working on what it describes as minor design changes to the power panel affected by the fire as well as software changes to the 787.
Air France is not the first customer scheduled to receive a 787. Boeing plans to deliver the first Dreamliner to Japan’s All Nippon Airways.
