Airbus is boosting the price of its airplanes, following a similar move by rival the Boeing Co. earlier this year.
The European jet maker announced its price increase, of 4.4 percent on average, on Tuesday. Airbus cited industrial investments and the weak dollar as reason for the price increase.
The price of Airbus’ A380 super jumbo jet will increase more than 8 percent to $375 million.
Boeing’s plane price increase was an average of 5.2 percent.
