The Everett Silvertips had a perfect weekend, just when they needed it most.

First, Everett swept all three of its games, beating Seattle twice and also topping Prince George. That halted a four-game losing streak and gave the Tips their first winning streak of the second half.

he results involving the teams Everett’s competing with for a playoff spot went the Tips’ way, too. Seattle lost all three of its games. Chilliwack lost both its contests. Kamloops went 1-1, with that win coming against Chilliwack in regulation.

Thus the Tips zoomed from alone in last place in the Western Conference to alone in seventh, and Everett has actually climbed within two points of sixth place Prince George (the Cougars also lost both their weekend games).
