Arlington: Free play for spring break

The city of Arlington is sponsoring a free theater event for children during spring break.

“The Weaver,” a play based on the story of Rumpelstiltskin, is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center, Arlington High School, 18

821 Crown Ridge Blvd.

The play is presented by Last Leaf Productions of Snohomish.

Granite Falls: Donate books, more for sale

The Friends of the Granite Falls Library group is looking for gently used book, magazine and media donations for a sale in May.

Donations can be dropped off during the group meeting at 6 p.m. on April 20 at the library, 815 E Galena St.

Items can also be donated anytime during library hours.

Lake Stevens: Learn to be a frugal cook

The Lake Stevens Family Center wants to help people keep their food budgets under control by sharing some meal ideas.

Residents can sign up to learn a new recipe every week during a Wednesday class from 11 a.m. to noon at the center, 1803 123 Drive NE.

The first class is April 13. Ingredients for each meal will be provided for free. Participants need to bring a dish to carry food home.

Marysville: Spring Craft Show April 9

The Ken Baxter Community Center is planning a Spring Craft Show on April 9.

Handmade gifts for Easter, Mother’s Day, children and pets are expected to be part of the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Oso: Community center meeting planned

Oso Community Center hosts its quarterly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the center, the old Oso schoolhouse off Highway 530.

Stanwood: Blood drive set for Monday

The Camano Stanwood Council of the Knights of Columbus plans to host a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Monday in the parish hall of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26900 78th Ave. NW, Stanwood.

Members of the organization hope to attract at least 100 donors for the blood drive.
