LANGLEY — Colton Patterson pitched a complete game in Game 1 of the Cascade Conference doubleheader, holding South Whidbey to four runs on eight hits while striking out eight. James Barnard batted 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI while teammate Mitch Byron went 2-for-3 with a homer and two R
BI. In Game 2, Granite Falls scored two runs with two outs in the top half of the seventh to break a 7-7 tie. The Falcons had the potential tying and winning runs at second and third base with two outs in the bottom half of the inning before their hitter popped out to first. Josh Weaver led Granite Falls with a 3-for-5 game while Aaron Curfman led South Whidbey with a 3-for-4 performance.
