June Robinson to run for council seat

EVERETT — The head of a local affordable housing coalition is making a run at Everett City Council.

June Robinson announced her plan this week to run for Position 7, the seat council president Shannon Affholter occupies. Affholter’s term is up this year and he’s already decided not to run for re-election.

Robinson, 51, is the executive director of the Housing Consortium of Everett and Snohomish County.

Her education and professional experience are primarily in public health, including a Master’s degree from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in Public Health.

She volunteers for several local organizations including the Families Matter Vision Council of the United Way of Snohomish County and her the Northwest Neighborhood Association.

She and her husband, Hilbert, raised two sons in Everett.
