Closures planned on Highway 522

Crews plan to close Highway 522 in Monroe for three nights this week, beginning tonight, for work on a road project.

Drivers should plan to take an alternate route or allow for delays tonight, Wednesday and Thursday nights. A detour will direct drivers onto 164th Street SE, Fryelands Boulevard and U.S. 2.

Weather permitting, crews plan to close both directions of Highway 522 at the U.S. 2 interchange from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving and drainage work each of the three nights.

This work is part of a $23 million project to build a new direct ramp from eastbound Highway 522 to eastbound U.S. 2. For more information visit the state’s project page..
