Arlington: Outdoor movies back at park
City parks and recreation’s annual Summer Outdoor Movie Nights at Terrace Park, at 809 Fifth St., kicks off Thursday with a showing of “Yogi Bear.”
Karaoke starts at 7 p.m. and the movie rolls at about 9 p.m.
Free popcorn and water are provided by Arlington Kiwanis. People are encouraged to bring blankets.
A Zumba exercise session precedes the July 21 showing of “Megamind” and karaoke is back on July 28 before “The Karate Kid.”

Darrington: Bluegrass fest starts
The annual Darrington Bluegrass Festival begins at 6 p.m. Friday and continues through Sunday. Thousands of people are expected to attend.
Tickets are $15 Friday and Sunday, $20 Saturday. It’s $50 for a three-day pass. Kids 12 and younger are free with an adult. Camping is $25 per RV or tent.
The Darrington Bluegrass Music Park is on Highway 530, three miles west of town.

Granite Falls: Sign up for Show-n-Shine
People who want to register their cars for the 31st annual Show-n-Shine event can do so by mail until Aug. 1.
Forms are available online at granitefallswa.com/sns/. The cost is $15 and forms can be sent to Granite Falls Show-n-Shine, 5830 Scherrer Road, Granite Falls, WA 98252.
Day of show registration on Aug. 6 is $20 and scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon.
Show-n-Shine is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. along S. Granite Avenue. All proceeds from the show go to Granite Falls High School vocational scholarship recipients.

Oso: Flea market set for this weekend
The Oso Fire Department Auxiliary plans to host its annual flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oso Fire Hall, 21824 Highway 530, east of Arlington.
Proceeds benefit Oso Fire District 25.
Tables are available, $10 per day.

Stanwood: Open house at glass school
Pilchuck Glass School swings open its gates in rural Stanwood from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday for its open house, the annual chance for the public to tour the wooded campus and observe artists at work.
Included in the price of admission are docent-led tours of the historic campus, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Visitors also can explore the school’s extensive studio facilities on their own, view artwork in the school’s gallery and enjoy the beauty of Pilchuck’s 54-acre campus. In addition, glass art will be offered for sale.
Founded in 1971 by Dale Chihuly, Anne Gould Hauberg and John H. Hauberg, Pilchuck Glass School is an international center for glass art education.
Tickets are $20 for adults and children 12 and younger are free.
