Arlington: Outdoor movies continue
City parks and recreation’s annual Summer Outdoor Movie Nights at Terrace Park is set to continue Thursday with a showing of “The Karate Kid.”
The movie is scheduled to begin at about 9 p.m. at 809 Fifth St. Karaoke is planned at 7 p.m.
Free popcorn and water are provided by Arlington Kiwanis. People are encouraged to bring blankets.
A production of William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” is scheduled at 6 p.m. Saturday at the park. The Shakespeare in the Park series is funded by the City of Arlington and the Friends of the Arlington Library.
Arlington: Blueberry Festival Saturday
Blueberries take center stage for the Blueberry Festival on the Red Rooster Route on Saturday.
The Bryant Blueberry Farm and Nursery’s third annual Blueberry Festival is planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5628 Grandview Road. During the event, visitors can purchase or pick their own blueberries, be part of an old-fashioned summer barbecue and take a self-guided farm tour down lanes of ripe blueberry bushes.
Children’s activities are set to begin at 11:30 a.m. and include face painting by Kimmy’s Kloset, pony and wagon rides and music. Berry picking is planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily updates on picking conditions are set to be posted at www.bryantblueberries.com.
The Red Rooster Route is a non-profit association of small, family-friendly farms in the Arlington area that are open to the public during the harvest season. Take exit 208 on I-5.

Arlington: Sign up for golf tournament
Golfers are needed for the Arlington American Legion Post 76 Toys For Kids golf tournament on Aug. 20.
The tournament cost $65 per person and includes a cart, lunch at the Legion, and prizes.
A shot gun start is set at 9 a.m. on the event day at the Glen Eagle Golf Course. People who want to be part of the tournament can sign up at the Arlington American Legion Post 76 located at 115 N. Olympic Ave.

Lake Stevens: Road work on Sunnyside
The Snohomish County Department of Public Works plans to close a single lane on Sunnyside Blvd. on Friday.
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. is set to close one lane of traffic at the 500 block of Sunnyside Boulevard to do overlay paving. The project is in conjunction with the Lake Stevens Sunnyside Wastewater Treatment Facility.
The closure is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Silvana: Fair adds new memorial garden
The Silvana Fair is set to include a new addition.
A memorial garden, honoring fair board members who have passed away since 2000, is scheduled to be part of the 64th annual fair on Saturday.
An opening ceremony is planned at 9 a.m. at Viking Hall, 1331 Pioneer Highway. The fair closes at 5 p.m. There is no parade on Friday.
