Highway 522 at U.S. 2 closed tonight

MONROE – Drivers on Highway 522 in Monroe should plan to take an alternate route or allow for delays Thursday night.

Crews plan to close both directions of Highway 522 at the U.S. 2 interchange at 10 p.m. tonight and will reopen the highway by 5 a.m. Friday. During the closure, crews will re-stripe lanes and shift traffic. Drivers will be detoured around the closure using 164th Street SE, Fryelands Boulevard and U.S. 2.

The work is part of a $23 million project to widen Highway 522 and improve the interchange. Crews are building a new direct ramp from eastbound Highway 522 to eastbound U.S. 2: WSDOT’s project page.
