Three WWII planes to fly Saturday in Everett

Three rare German planes will fly Saturday in the latest of the Flying Heritage Collection’s Fly Day series.
Flying Heritage’s recently acquired Focke-Wulf 190 will perform alongside two other World War II-era German planes, the Messerchmitt Bf 109 E-3 and a Fieseler FI 156 C-2 Storch for Luftwaffe Day.
During World War II, the Luftwaffe was considered one of the most powerful and experienced air forces in the world. The Bf 109 was recognized as the backbone of the Luftwaffe during the war, while the Fw 190 is regarded as Germany’s best fighter aircraft.
Flying Heritage’s Fw 190 is the only one of its kind in the world that has been restored to its original flying condition. This aircraft was originally slated for its public debut flight earlier this June, but was unable to take to the skies due to inclement weather.
The Fly Day event, which is free to the public, starts at noon Saturday. For more information on the event, visit Flying Heritage’s website.
