Prep volleyball: Kamiak 3, Monroe 1

MONROE — With Bryce Larson leading the way, Kamiak opened its 2011 volleyball season with a four-game nonconference victory over Monroe 21-25, 25-19, 25-13 and 25-20. Larson slammed 25 kills and added 18 digs while teammate Ally Bowles had 38 assists for the Knights (1-0 overall).

On the other end, Melina Seabrook provided 13 kills and 12 digs while Kendal Munoz added 14 digs and 12 assists to pace the Bearcats (0-1).
