The Boeing Co. handed over 48 aircraft to customers last month, bringing its year-to-date delivery total to 260.

The company delivered 39 737s in August, up from 29 in July. Boeing also delivered two Everett-built 767s and seven 777s, according to a report updated on Thursday.

If you haven’t seen Boeing’s delivery report for August, take a look. Why? It’s the end of a (difficult) era. Next month, the 787 will make its debut on the deliveries report. And the spot for the 747 won’t be blank.

Boeing trails Airbus in deliveries over the first eight months of the year. Airbus reported this week that it has delivered 334 aircraft through August.

Also on Thursday, Boeing added four new orders for its 777, bringing its net order total to 374.
