Nick Walters suspended

Everett defenseman Nick Walters has been suspended for a length to be determined for his checking-to-the-head major penalty against Vancouver Friday night. That means Walters won’t play in tonight’s exhibition finale at Seattle. It also means captain Ryan Murray, who was supposed to be rested for much of the preseason, will probably be forced into the lineup again.

If Walters gets suspended for more than one game, he’ll miss out on the season opener next Friday in Portland.
